The Compliant Pharmacy Alliance Cooperative is the most successful and profitable buying cooperative in the United States. CPA is about money, leverage and peer networking. We support and promote all aspect of independent pharmacy through improved business opportunities. CPA is 100% member owned and maintains complete financial transparency. Every member is a business partner and receives a full accounting of every program.
HOW LONG HAS CPA BEEN IN BUSINESS?
In 1993, CPA began with the pioneer group Great Lakes Pharmacies. In 1998 a sister group, Independent Pharmacies of America was formed. 1999 saw the third group established, Phoenix Pharmacy Group. Two groups were formed in 2003, Lone Star Rx and Carolina Pharmacies Unlimited and Pharmacy Partners of America began in 2006. Together these groups pattern and mimic each other in compliance and behaviors and form the Compliance Pharmacy Alliance...over 800 stores strong.
WHAT IS THE MANAGEMENT STRUCTURE?
Each of the seven CPA Cooperatives has a Board of Directors elected by the membership. The Boards of Directors are responsible for business decisions made on behalf of the cooperatives. The CPA headquarters employs 16 full-time staff members with GM/CEO Edward Heckman leading the organization.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY TRANSPARENT? WILL OTHER MEMBERS NEED TO KNOW MY BUSINESS?
There is 100% transparency, down to the penny, of every CPA program. All programs generate rebates that are given back to the group. 100% of these rebates are passed back to the membership monthly and quarterly, based on member performance. We eliminate the guessing game as to what program rebates are generated versus what is distributed to members.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME TO RECOUP THE MEMBERSHIP FEE?
The average store breaks even with their membership fee in less than 21 days. You'll never be charged a monthly administrative fee. Our only goal is to help you make more money, not to fund an outside organization or associate.
ONCE THE DEAL IS IN PLACE DOES CPA ASSIST ME IN UTILIZING THE CONTRACTS?
Suppliers know they must provide members with the highest standards of service. Our job doesn't stop when the deal is struck, it just begins. CPA's strong program administration makes money for you, even if you aren't looking. We also watch deals to make sure members are charged negotiated prices. Many times money is flowing out the backdoor that 98% of pharmacies miss because they do not have the time or wherewithal to find errors to track it down.
